Windows API verses .Namespaces

does anybody out there know how fast running api's are compared to the equivalent .net namespaces. Cheers Black

In current versions of windows, the winapi is more performant, but future versions of windows will use the CLR at the core, so expect a reversal of that in a few years. So, if you need performance now, use winapi. if performance is not the be all and end all, then rather future proof your apps by using the clr. HTH Regards KevinT

Given that .net adds an extra layer on top of WINAPI (in many cases) and a CLR (who eats your memory) what do you think? Don't get me wrong; the safety and convenience given by CLR is a superior bonus.
