You want to partition the source text in a C# code file into neatly organized blocks that can be expanded or collapsed visually. With the #region directive, you can specify regions of code; you must indicate the start of the region and the end of the region.

It's a preprocessor directive that lets you mark a block of code which you can expand or collapse when using the outlining feature of the Visual Studio Code Editor, so you can focus on the part of the code which you are currently working on.

So, in other words, it helps you to see the wood from the trees!
