Seriously speaking, what I meant is that developers do what they are told. It is my point that the people that tell the programmers what to do that would be concerned about the marketing issues. Please however don't take that too seriously.
It is a marketing thing. Developers don't need to be concerned about it.

Well, it's the first I'd heard of it but evidently it's a new organization which has been launched this month and jointly sponsored by (the unlikely bed-fellows) of Bing, Google and Yahoo.
Its purpose is to create a 'structured data markup schema' for web pages to help these search engines to produce better search results.
