Functional Dependency" is followed in Second Normal Form (2NF) which means all the columns in the schema should be functionally dependent on the primary key of that schema.
e.g.
Given a relation R,attribute Y of R is functionally dependent on attribute X of R only if each X- value has associate with it precisely one -Y value in R.
