Values lost during submit event

I Have three dropdowns, and whenever i select the items and enter the submit button

to insert the record.. the values which i selected are lost from dropdown

plz help me out with this

Hi Mohammed,

M best guess is that when the button is clicked it caused post back and the page reloads. Now you might have written the drop down population in the form load without checking if it is a post back or not .

Populate your drop down values inside the form load event within the '!Page.IsPostBack' block as below :
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
if (!Page.IsPostBack)
{
//Populate your dropdowns
}
}

This should retain your drop down values in previous state.

Values are saving to the database no prob..but when again if i want insert another record the last values which was selected lost from the dropdown

Can you please post how you binding dropdownlist and submit event, so it would help to track the issue.

Hi Mohammed,

Could you please let me know "The value lost" means its not saving to the database or after saving once the page refreshed DropDown values are cleared.
