Using ListBox

Hi All,

I want to know when we use ListBox is it compulsory to use ListBox.ItemTemplate and DataTemplate inside the ListBox. If yes.. than why please explain.....

Please put questions about WPF in the WPF forum so that members like me know that you are asking about the WPF ListBox instead of the Windows Forms ListBox.

It is necesarry because the ListBox itself can't render any data. There isn't any standard behaviour. At the beginning I made the mistake to compare the WPF ListBox with the Winform ListBox but IMHO there aren't many thinks the same. In a Winform ListBox I could add some strings and it was done. In WPF I have to build it with the ItemTemplate but I am completely free how to design the item or what controls I want to add.

That's just my position ;)
