UDF. Userd defined functions,where are they used?

Hi,

Where do we need to use User defined function.Till now i have never used them. If you guys have used tell me why did u`ll use it in ur project?

There's no mystery about them. If there isn't a built-in function which does what you want, then you may be able to build a user-defined function which does.

Also, if you're using a lot of built-in functions in the same expression, then it may be more convenient to build a user-defined function which does it all.
