Hi,Thanks for your reply.but I am trying for a time resolution of <10 milli seconds.I did achieve this but only after setting the priority of my application to Highest using ProcessPriority.RealTime property and then using the callback routine with highest priority but this is having some serious effects. So I am trying for some safer methods. waiting for reply

There are 2 issues you need to be aware of here. First, the timer resolution. Windows really doesn't do any better than 1/18th of a second. The second issue is that you are using callback functions. When you are using a callback, Windows is using the message pump. That means that you are getting into the message queue. Depending on how busy the OS is, and how well other running tasks are processing their messages, you can get unavoidable delays. What kind of timer resolution are you trying to achieve?

It's difficult to diagnose the problem without any source. Please post your code and we'll help you.
