The process cannot access the file

Hello , I'm trying to convert .csv file to excel but i got some error with this , please suggest

The process cannot access the file 'E:\Saggy\25-jul-2016\NewSheet.xlsx' because it is being used by another process.

Using statement as below can help to tackle the issue
using (var stream = File.Open(path, FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Write, FileShare.Read))

Use the Process Monitor (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/procmon) to check the processed locked out your file

Move this section above your while loop
StreamWriter sw;
string Filename = @"E:\Saggy\25-jul-2016\Techie.xlsx";
if (!File.Exists(Filename))
sw = File.CreateText(Filename);

on " while (!sr.EndOfStream) "

Hey

As far as I know that you cannot create an xlsx file by just giving its extension, Excel uses xml files and other dependencies to build an xlsx file.

Anyway, the problem should be renoved by changing the below line
//sw = File.CreateText(Filename);
//sw = File.AppendText(Filename);


File.CreateText(Filename).Close();
sw = File.AppendText(Filename);
sw.Close();
sw.Dispose();
File.CreateText function creates an openable file that needs to be closed

while (!sr.EndOfStream)

if (!String.IsNullOrWhiteSpace(line))

arrayList.Add(values[0]);

arrayList.Add(values[1]);

arrayList.Add(values[2]);

}

StreamWriter sw;

string Filename = @"E:\Saggy\25-jul-2016\Techie.xlsx";

if (!File.Exists(Filename))

sw = File.CreateText(Filename);

sw = File.AppendText(Filename);

}

Console.WriteLine("File is Created");

Console.ReadLine();

sr.Close();

Ensure that you have closed the file "NewSheet.xlsx" before trying to convert .csv file to excel.

In what way you are trying to convert?

Hi,
First Close the all excel sheets and try again.
No any excel sheet should be opened during this process.
