TextBox Highlighting

Hi, Imagine the senario please: There are two lables and one button. when the click on the button, i want to display 'HELLO' in lable1 if it is highlighted or label 2 if that is highlighted and nothing if these two are not highlighted. Can anyone please reply me, regarding how to do this. Thank You

You can higlight the label by setting its background color to a desired colour : eg lblLabel1.BackColor = Color.Red; To unHighlight it, set its color back to Color.Control; Then in the buttons click event, you check to see if the labels background color is your highlighted color and if it is then set the label to "HELLO" : EG: private void btnButton_Click(object sender, System.EventArgs e) { if (lblLabel1.BackColor == Color.Red) lblLabel1.Text = "Hello"; else lblLabel1.Text = ""; if (lblLabel2.BackColor == Color.Red) lblLabel2.Text = "Hello"; else lblLabel2.Text = ""; }

How can a label be highlighted? A label cannot get the focus and has no SelectedText property.
