How to restrict the user to enter the maximum characters in text box like

First Name: ------------ (maximum 50 characters)

Hi Ponveni,

You no need to write any server side code or javascript to validate the length.

ASP.Net TextBox has the property called MaxLength. It will accept the numeric value to set the maximum.

It will not obtain more than maximum. When you try to assign more text then it will consider only upto maximum length defined in the tag.

The Windows Forms TextBox also has a MaxLength property which works in a similar fashion if you're using that rather than ASP.Net.
