As far as RAM concerned for developers , we want system ready for Multitasking

It depends on which kind of software you are using

Personally im gonna use vs 2017 and Sql server 2016 so im using 8 GB RAM

If you have 4 GB than try to upgrade 8 GB or 16 GB if possible
