here is my code , i want to get the selected index in c#. how to get it in c# any hekp will be appreciated

Hello,
As you have not written runat = "server" while declaring dropdown so it will not be accessed in C#. To access selected value from jquery you can use the code as below
var productValue = $('#selectProduct').val();
To access the index using jquery you can write code as below
$("#selectProduct")[0].selectedIndex
or
$("#selectProduct option:selected").index()

no i have placed inside the bootsrap modals,
it has 1 main form inside that i have lot of text fields and in the text boxes followed by lot of modals.
in some text fields it has the static dropdowns for yes it has to go different calculation part for no it follows differebt caculation

selectProduct.SelectedIndex for this in my c# it throws error like that doesn't exist in the current context.
I did with this by using jquery, but I want it in c# where I have to do lot of calculations. that's why I want it in c#

To get the selected index of dropdown you need to just write the below code
selectProduct.SelectedIndex

You can use jquery ajax method or other javascript functionalities in html or asp.net dropdown tags.
