Essentially, only the ANSI standard syntax (such as select) is expected to be working as it is. However, the proprietary syntax, such BEGIN TRY will not work in Oracle where there is a different construct for exception handling.

 

Apart from this, the major show stopper would be result set returning stored procedures which are completely missing in Oracle. The feature in Oracle PL/SQL to write directly to the disk is absent from SQL Server.

 

There are many such differences, which would make transition difficult if not impossible.
