Hi All, I am Lead Software Engineer with 14 years of experience. I am currently leading a team to build the RAG based app. I have great opportunities to work in multiple AI projects. Now I have got the opportunity to use Azure AI for the project needs and have got multiple projects to do in azure ai studio.
I am a software architect aspirant. but all you know its a huge topic, I think still I have a long way to go,,
I am quite excited and also confused about my career. As I try to learn more "Data Science & AI" I explore its very big and exhaustive.
I understand that I should know both the Architecture and Newer technology.
1. Am I have to get deep into the "Data Sceince & AI" world to build intelligent systems?
2. My Manager says to switch to "Data Sceintist" Role? Am I good to switch? The .net lower growth trend and less job openings are making me to think to move to fully into AI roles as well.
Kindly help me to select my career path "Architecture with Wide range of knowledge" or "Azure AI Engineer" or "Data Scientist"

It is excellent that you are working on the latest technologies in AI, including AI Studio; while it's good to work on newer technologies, a target Software Architect position should be your goal. With 14 years of experience, you should already be involved in software architecture and dealing with direct clients and end users. Building great software is not just about learning how to use technologies but building something that end users love. That comes only after you know who they are, how they work, and what they think.
Going deep into data science and AI depends on your interests. You must ask yourself. Do you like to do such work? OR you want to talk to customers, management, and stakeholders and build solutions.
The Data Scientist role, again, depends on you. Do you like dealing with data day and night, writing queries or do you see yourself growing in the company to take a senior role?
So, you need to ask what area makes you are happy? What do you like to do the most? I believe going into non tech areas for senior folks like yourself is very important. I think you should get into sharing your expertise with others, speak online and in-person, build professional network, and spend time with leaders and learn more about business.
Yes agree with .NET. These days, technologies are irrelevant unless you are writing day to day code. Its not hard to switch from .NET to Java stack. Learning newer technologies will also give you an edge when in the meetings and giving your options.

Yes. I have decided to pursue the software architecture aspiration, by learning the AI concepts as required to propose the solution.
I believe the no code/low code and AI platforms like Azure AI Studio will ease that journey.
Though the data science feels interesting the exploration time is very critical. so I am targeting to know all options available in Azure AI and Azure in general, this way I can build intelligent systems, which will also help me to get up the ladder.
