Sharepoint 2010:Cannot connect to the configuration database

1. Please check the connectivity between sharepoint and SQL server. 2. Please check whether the SQL related services are up and running. 3. Check whether the SP config database went into corruption/suspect mode. This you can view in SQL management studio. Check whether you are able to expand the sharepoint config DB and able to look into the available tables, views etc... if you don't find the expand(+) symbol for the sharepoint config DB then it is corrupted.
