Hi ,

how to do a setup project file in WPF without using 'installshield limited edition' template.Thanks in advance.

Hi Sai,

Creating Setup upto VS 2005 was easier but in the later version VS has removed to create setup and implemented Installshield limited edition to create and when it expires, you can't.

So, install a VS extension from the given link: https://visualstudiogallery.msdn.microsoft.com/9abe329c-9bba-44a1-be59-0fbf6151054d

Now, you can create setup and deployment project from your Setup and Deployment Template in VS wthout any problem.

To sign an assembly using a new key file
With the project node selected in Solution Explorer, from the Project menu, clickProperties (or right-click the project node inSolution Explorer, and click Properties).
In the Project Designer, click the Signing tab.
Select the Sign the assembly check box.
Specify a new key file. In the Choose a strong name key file drop-down list, select <New...>. Note that new key files are always created in the .pfx format.
The Create Strong Name Key Dialog Boxappears.
In the Create Strong Name Key dialog box, enter a name and password for the new key file, and then click OK

Select your file that you want to secure, goto properties -> set visible value to true.
This will hide the files from the user.

Hi Amit ,
whenevr i installed the setup file "C:\Program Files (x86)\xyz\Setup3\" thr its showing all dll files and exe files cant we provide secutiry .Thanks

Whenever you add project output to create setup, VS automatically add its dependencies. So you need to delete the duplicate dependencies manually.

Thanks for reply and onemorething i hav a solution collection of 3 projects while creating setup file i am getting all the dll's of all the solutions how to remove detected dependencies once installing the s/w if i go and c thr it showing all 3 projects related dlls.pls reply ASAP.once again thanks
