If u r a completely new doing some sample projects will surely help.. u will come across many new things when u start with a project.. U will face problems and will try to find solutions to it.. Thats the best and interesting way to learn and get knowledge.. u can get project books and also projects for various sites.

Actually what I mean by Scope is Job Prospect in ASP.net , Future of ASP.net, Growth prospect in Industry & what type of job I'll get after that.

ASP .Net is an environment that supports various languages.
I am not familiar with JSP but I assume it is similar to ASP.
PHP is a language.
