I was trying to save the smilies with text into database(TEXT TYPE FIELD) and retrive them back once done. But I'm facing problem to retrive them back. e.g. Hello :) how are you :-)

Do not save smilies in database, you would waste most of your database space by storing that bytes of image.

Instead, while representing that smilie, try to convert it to an image. (Replace that text with an image at that location). It would be much helpful, try using some unicode characters. :-)
