How to retrieve fast record from sql server and display on Gridview or html table it take more time to disply 4000 records. How can i solve?

This is correct way to retrive,but addtionally set cluster or non cluster index.it works much faster form SQL server side.

Well, there are various factors to be considered in your T-SQL scripts to speed up your processing to quickly display the data in the front-end. Few things to consider are as follows.
Review your stored procedure logic.
Implementing custom paging logic for displaying the selected page records.
Implementing cluster/non-cluster indexes on the frequently used columns.
Avoiding the use of Cursors.
You could review the joins being used, retrieve the relevant records into a temp table or table variable, disconnect from your primary tables and do further processing using this table.

For showing large data it is better to implement paging and show certain amount of data per page.For this you can create a procedure in sql server.Please see the link below for details.
