Recording sound project

I want to record sound from a microphone in a C# program. From examples I've seen I need Microsoft.DirectX.DirectSound. What is this and where can I get it? Thanks for any replies.

DirectSound is a part of the Microsoft's DirectX SDK (Software Development Kit). It can be found and downloaded at microsoft.com. If you have a dialup connection...tough luck...it's around 225 MB. As for using it in your development projects...you'll find you have some hard time as there's a certain lack of documentation about it. Also, many of DirectX's components are deprecated wich means that using them isn't an advisable practice although they'll work. Anyway, good luck!
