record not delete if id use another table in sql query

Hello Devendra,

IF you use 'city_id' as primary key in "City" table and then use it('city_id') as foreign key in "District" table ,then it will work well, this concept will prevent the delete action in "City" table value If its use in "District" table.

Hi In if you are using SP on that case in your query just . add a validation query if the passed city id exists in the District then dont delete and return a parameter 0 or 1 . 1-deleted

0-not deleted

Suppose u r using @cityId as parameter in SP

Eg:

If exists(select * from District where CityId=@cityId)
Begin
select 0 as DelteStatus
End
Else
Begin
delete from District where CityId=@cityId
select 1 as DelteStatus
End

Now in your code use the above SP to validate the delete status
