read multiple line from text file

Your question is not clear; it is not clear if those two lines are the only two lines or if they are at the beginninbg or the end or what. So I will assume you don't need help finding the two lines. I also assume you can read the two lines using two calls to ReadLine. Then what I would do is to use String.Split to split the first record using the space as the delimiter. I would check to ensure that the third item of the array is "bytes". I might do other auditing such as ensuring that the second item is a number. The first item would be the filename and one theing to check is to ensure that the filename extension is valid. Then for the next line I would check to ensure that it begins with "Time Now is " (including trailing space). If so the the remainder (substring) of the line is the time.
