proxy object in web services

You can directly add a web reference to the web service so that visual studio automatically creates a proxy object ( which is used to call the web methods in the web service from your app).
On the otherhand, you can generate proxy object by using wsdl.exe which visual studio uses this internally in the above approach as well to generate proxy class..
