My suggestion would be do a multiple self check and talk to friends and especially mentors. As far as i know PM get very less chance to do code, mostly it restricted to code review or design discussions. You can not do both. But if you are a natural communicator, thick skin, get things done, mix well with multicultural clients etc etc. Just go ahead.

I want to become project manager because of my natural inclination towards management and administration as well as I want an advancement in career,.Being a PM I can also enjoy programming.

Why you want to become a project manager ? For money, career advancement ? find your motivation to do that first......

Your degree may help you but experience also matter. Do PMP for this skill.

Your educational qualification will certainly help but without some PM level experience it might not be that easy.

I suggest that you should learn all the PM level skills and what all it requires. Then your degree with right set of skills will yield the best results.
