Prevent from duplicate insertion on save button

I have a problem that, when I am inserting data from web page than sometime duplicate data(means 2 rows) going to insert and sometime insert single data properly.

So what we can do for prevent duplicate insertion.

Make a stored procedure. See below sample.

           )
     VALUES
           (@AgentID,

First you need to find out, form where(in code) it inserts double records. Once you catch it, resolve the same.

Secondly, before inserting you need to check if the row is exist in database. Or you can make some column as unique key. Is there any other app which is interacting to your Databse or any trigger is there in database. Please verify.

Or, you can use the unique index to prevent the duplication but if possible, have a primary key constraints accross the columns you would like to be unique or else create an unique index on those.

but the scenario was I couldn't use primary key means I don't have any unique column .

may be the event is firing two times or more, please put break point and check if that event is firing more than one time
