Performance between asp.net mvc and asp.net mvc web api

We are not exactly compare Performance Mvc application and Webapi application both are follow Mvc pattern 1- In Mvc support many return types like View, Partical view, javascript, Json etc but WeApi return only Json/Xml. 2- In Mvc we create Cshtml pages for view but webapi not support so we create Html pages for view. 3- In mvc we directly call action results but Webapi Action call by Http request ajax. 4- In mvc don't require ajax but webapi require ajax or angular etc. 5-In mvc use layout page and Partical views but web not support. Above the basic difference between Mvc and Webapi both are better Performance. Microsoft marge both mvc and Webapi as one project in new visual Studio.
