Parallel Port

I used this article to refer to but I always get the "Unable to retrieve the current control settings" exception. It's a custom exception. Can you please review this article and tell me what's wrong with and what else do I need to do? Thanks... :)

This is way too complicated a subject to discuss in this format. I don't know how long you have been at this game, but if you worked the good ol' days of DOS, the process should sound familiar. You are basically going to open the Device and treat it as a File. You are just appending data to it as you would a File. A good place for you to start reading in the On-line docs is the CreateFile function. You should be able to figure it out from there. Good luck.

What exactly do you want to do? Are you looking to do your own printing? Writing a printer driver? Do you need to read from the bi-directional port to find out what is attached? Or are looking to fire pins to control some homemade robotic type device? There's a lot you can do with a parallel port.
