You can also try using free spire.doc dll to append html content to word document.

Code for your reference:
//Load the word document
Document document = new Document();
document.LoadFromFile("Input.docx");

//Html string
string htmlstring = "HTML string";

//Append Html string as first item of the 3rd paragraph
