MVC validation to select unique value from drop down list c#

I want to select unique values from dropdown list for each record. how to use validations in the MVC model and not with javascript. MVC C#.

it is better that you bind the dropdown with unique values, but in case if you want validation in model, at that point the value getting form dropdown will campare with existing one.
