moving forms

Sorry. I got the impression that you were trying to make a draggable form without a titlebar. You know, the kind of application that you can "grab" anywhere and drag it around. You can use the MOVE event or LOCATIONCHANGED events, but they fire multiple times. If that's not what you want I'm not sure how you could determine this except the following: Turn on the "Dragging" status on a MOVE event. Turn off the status in the MOUSEMOVE event if the Dragging operation is TRUE. At that point, your form has stopped moving. Of course, this doesn't work until the user puts the mouse on the form.

The problem is when you move a form you do not get a mouse up event (or mouse down for that matter) because it is in the non client area of the form. I have played with overriding winproc, but I really don't know what I am not familiar with it enough to know what I am doing.

You should only adhere to the mouseup event if the mousedown event was previously clicked, so you should also handle that to "start" the move "action". Sometimes a user will click without actually moving the form (buttons, etc). You'll also probably need the mousedown click point to determine how to move the window.

You should be able to add an event handler to the MouseUp event of the form.
