Merge lists

Yeah, I tried to learn it when I found out it was going to be included in VS as I thought it might become important.

However, I can't say I actually 'enjoy' programming in the language as functional concepts are alien to the way I think. Just too many years as an imperative programmer, I guess :)

Not sure what will happen to it in the new Windows 8 programming environment but, as it's open source and can be used from Mono as well as .NET, hopefully it will survive the transition.

Well, I don't know whether it's the fastest way or not but I'd append one list to the other, convert it to a HashSet which will automatically remove duplicates and then back again to a list. For example:

open System.Collections.Generic

let list1 = [1..10]

let list2 = [5..15]

let list3 = list1 @ list2

let hs = new HashSet(list3)

let list4 = List.ofSeq(hs)

List.iter (fun x -> printfn "%d" x) list4
