Is it possible to compile C# to native code?

This tool does not create native code - it just links bits of the framework into your exe. Still .NET! Bill F

We've had a similar discussion on here about that in the past. I couldn't find the link, but to sum it up... no. So much of what drives .Net apps is built into the framework, that it isn't possible to create native code that can run seperate from the framework. You would not only have to compile in all of the assemblies that are referenced by your code, but you would also have to compile the Garbage Collector as well.. the exe file would be monsterous! If anyone disagrees, or has seen it done.. I'd love to see it
