insert xp CD go to control panel-->Add/Remove Program-->Install Windows Component and select (Internet Information Services) and install. For verification in your browser url write localhost if IIS is installed then some welcome screen will be appear.
Vista/Win7
Control Panel-->Program-->Turn on/Off windows features--->Internet Information service.(No CD Required)
