i'm developing a small community website in c# , In this website i need to implement a chatting application where in users can chat with his friends who are available online just like in gmail or facebook...

the code u sujjested is in silverlight but i dont have any idea about that, So please can u provide some other sample of code for my problem it would be great favor for me..

You can use silverlight4 project as component integrated in your website.
