Hyperlink column to infopath form or word doc

Hello Sandeep,

 

Initially i was a bit confused of how to display 40 columns of data. So I thought of a hyperlink column to display additional column data.

But this 40 columns is not permanant and may extend and I felt like it is not a good way to do so.

Hence i attached a word template for each company(row) which has additional information displayed in a form format.

Now the list has only 10 fixed columns and a word template attached to it which is more convenient for us..

How uploading a document helps you to see remaining 30 columns?

 

 

Is there any reason why you dint want to use default column Title With Link, on click of this column It will take to the full details page where you can see all 40 columns ?

Thank you for your answer, but i tried an easy and simple way.

 

Create a column of type single line of text and select option "enhanced rich text" from bottom. 

Then in Quick Edit view, double click on the field in that column and use your "insert" tab to upload a file (Word Doc).

The file is displayed as a link in this cell and on clicking you can open it straight in the browser.

Hi Cauvery,

 

There is no OOTB feature. I would recommend to Use Client-side rendering (JS Link) to achieve this.

 

 This will allow to control the rendering of a Field, you can convert single line of text into hyperlink.

 

Like how default Dispform.aspx takes Item ID as the input through query string, you shall do the same for the InfoPath form, pass current item ID as the query string. you can construct the URL using JS link.
