HTML : Image width full page ?

Hi I have an image that will not go full page of the browser. I set the width to 100% and position to absolute. Can someone help me.

When I set the width to 100%, its half of the page. I extract the later from Photoshop to a PNG file. The psd file is 1024 by 728. does this makes a difference?
