CREATE table #TempTable

(id int,Name Varchar(10))

insert into #TempTable

values(1,'Abc')

select * from #TempTable

Drop Table #TempTable

You can store temporary data during query execution. Mainly 2 types of temporary tables

 

Local Temporary Table-

 

SELECT name

INTO #TempProducts

FROM Products

WHERE category = 100

 

Global Temporary Table -

 

SELECT name

INTO ##TempProducts

FROM Products

WHERE category = 100

 

Local temporary table is only accessible to the connection that created that temporary table. It is not accessible to other connections. However, we can create temporary tables that are accessible to all the open connections. Such temporary tables are called global temporary tables
