how to update db,when shutdown s\m without browser close app

step 1:  what ever the user trying to login first check the txt file is empty or having data if file has data then save it in DB and clean the txt file. now you can get details of previous user

 

step2: when current/another user logged in (after login) then write the current user data in txt file. when current user logged out then save the txt file data in DB or if flustations occurs, now the file data cant be saved in DB right. then what ever the user loged in (repeat the step 1 again)

 

or 

it is better to use window service on server for every sec of timespan you must save the data from log txt file to DB with userID and date.

      As your opinion , I can find the fluctuated logout details only at when he login at next time. suppose if he isn't login at long days, then how do i take logout time from .txt .. it seems , that user still online.   I need to entry the fluctuated logout details at instance.

because admin can take login/logout tracking Details at any time.

yes, you can save the data in DB in two cases:

 

1> at Logout case: when there is no  fluctuations in browser i.e., user used the browser correctly when he click logout retrive the data from log.txt file and save in the database

 

2> at fluctuations Case: when browser is shutdown or closed suddenly. when user login again at login stage retive the data from log.txt file and save in the database.

 

yes put log file in standared  path in c:\ or Appdata or in any windows temp folder

 As your opinion, the txt log file will create in standard path. I need , the time should be updated in database when user without closing the browser.

As your opinion ,i checked,   When i close the browser or browser tab, the session_end event continues until session time out. So I cant be say, the browser closing time is a user logout time. 

 

Eg) The  session timeout is 20 min. Now the user will reload the page,after a instance, he/she is closing the browser. note that, now only session starts becouse of the reload ...     Even though he closed the browser,session_end event only fire after the session timeout. , But i need browser closing time is a logout time.

I have 2 ideas actually i too didn't try it but i am assuming it. just try like this may its work..

 

1. Using Timer:

- set the timer in master page or any where.

- when user login, the timer should start internally and create one text file or xml file in a standared path.

- Then for every second or for every minute of time intervel write the data in .txt or .xml file with UserID and Time.

- when the system fluctuations occurs when the user restarts his application, first check the file has data with that user id or not if the file has data then you can assume that system is previously occured with fluctuations.

- If the user logout from the browser correctly then clean the file  

 

2. Using Web Service:

 

Same concept work with web services, the timer and writing file from service file. 

You neither have any control over client environment nor do you get any event notifications of such events.

 

If you are using asp.net you can code in Session_OnEnd (or Session_End in mvc) event. Notice that this is not going to get fired as soon as client disconnects, but whenever session of that client end which depends on session timeout setting.
