How to Replace a Symbol?

Hi all! How to replace a character in a string by other character. I have a spanish text and I want to replace the special characters. eg: á by a é by e í by i ó by o ú by u any idea? thanx in advance.

thanx FMartin. I'm Already using Replace() n I have to do the below: string fixedString = funnyString; fixedString=fixedString.Replace("á","a"); fixedString=fixedString.Replace("é","e"); fixedString=fixedString.Replace("í","i"); fixedString=fixedString.Replace("ó","o"); fixedString=fixedString.Replace("ú","u"); I don't know if it is the best code but it works. thank you, I appreciate your help.
