how to know when a process has exited

Will you please tell me what library " Process.Start() method" requires? (E.G. Using System.???) I would like to do something very similar to what you did. I copied the code that Robin furnished and the compiler complained that the "Process pcs =new Process();" had no assembly directive.(???) The best I can figure is that I did not use the correct library. There may be an easy way to do this, but I am not a software guy. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm very sorry - forgot to add this line: pcs.EnableRaisingEvents = true; befor pcs.Start(); With that, exited event will be raised.

My test code after your suggestion: private void someMethod(){ Process pcs=new Process(); pcs.Exited+=new EventHandler(pcs_Exited); pcs.StartInfo.FileName="notepad.exe"; pcs.Start(); } private void pcs_Exited(object sender, EventArgs e) { MessageBox.Show("process exited"); } My problem is that notepad starts, but when I close it, the pcs_Exited is not called.
