How to get months difference between two dates in c#

I have two date fields where i need to caluculate difference in months between those two dates how can i do this.Below is my formula

(start.Year * 12 + start.Month) - (end.Year * 12 + end.Month);

Expected Result

Start Date End Date Need to get output as

08/28/2019 09/02/2019 1

06/01/2019 09/02/2019 4

01/02/2019 03/02/2019 3

01/02/2019 03/05/2019 3

to get the exact fractions of the months like what we have in the `TimeSpan.TotalDays` for example.

for example what is the result of total months between `20-01-2021` and `20-03-2021`?

I guess it should be `2.0xx`, but if you considered Feb as 30 days, you'll get a different answer "`1.8xx` or something"

So I've done the calculation according to the days in each month between the selected dates.

- First I've got the list of days between the selected two dates

- then I grouped them by month and did the calculation
