How to get dropdownlist value with out using post back

i have two dropdownlist as follows

Country dropdownlist1
State dropdownlist2

when i click the country dropdownlsit1, in state dropdownlist2 corresponding state will display.

for that how to do with out using autopostback

Either you need to use AJAX or update panel(if it is webform).
