how to get alert in c# windows application

I am developing windows application with MDI form.

if multiple user is using the applicaiton

and any change made by the one user,should be reflected as alert for another user while working in application immediately.

Both user using the same applicaiton with seperate instance.

Please help me sir.

considering the use is making the change and you want to have it detected (probably database changes), you should go for SQL Dependency.

All what you want to do is to have the code for sql dependency in various places as required and it should be pretty much it.

Agreed with Nitin sir, but if you are working with file system or standalone database file, you can use FileSystemWatcher class that monitors and change/deletion in the file. It notifies only outer region not internal change. Hope it helps :)

For displaying messages you can use MessageBox.

Slightly complicated.

First, where are you expected to observe the change? That is a very important question. Obviously the place must be the one which is accessible to all, for example, database.

Secondly, you will probably need a thread running apart from your usual form showing thread which will keep on looking for the change and raise alert at an appropriate time.

SignalR is the technology which provides this kind of mechanism, which you may look into.
