How to create a log coordinate

Using a rectangular coordinate system on the screen, the markings should be of the form k*n^x where k is some scale, n is the base of the log, and x is the adjusted screen coordinate, so there should be evenly spaced ticks marked 1,10,100,1000,10000, and so on
