What brand and model PLC are you trying to communicate with?

Every PLC has some different abilities for network…

It may be TCP/IP or Serial connection…

Which one implemented in your PLC?

Also, PLC vendor usialy gives abilities for interacting with PLC from other programs – it may be a kind of Comm driver or somfing. You need to review yours PLC documentation…
