How to bak File Restore To database in Sql server 2012 Steps

Hello,
Follow the below steps to restore you bak file,
1. Go to Object Explorer in your SQL server
2. Right click on your database
3. Goto Tasks --> Restore --> Files and File Groups. Click on it
4. Browse your .bak file, then click 'Add'.
5. Then goto "Option", which you can see in the main window.
6. Check the "Overwrite the existing database" and "Prompt before restoring each backup"
7. Then Click "OK".
8. You can see the alert message says "Database restored successfully".

sql server 2009 pro version the bak file ..i have open the database thanks for help us for all friends...

not clear this error
RESTORE FILELIST is terminating abnormally.

@Bharathi Raja error is coming due to multiple factor.
>>restoring database from newer version to older version mean to say if backup is taken from sql server 2012 and restoring that backup to sql server 2008 it gives error.
>>May be your db has been corrupted.

did you back it up from SQL2012? ifit was on a higher SQL version you may not be able to do this directly

they are some work around it.

Error Throw this message

Msg 3241, Level 16, State 0, Line 1
The media family on device 'D:PBMAN_DB.bak' is incorrectly formed. SQL Server cannot process this media family.
Msg 3013, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
RESTORE DATABASE is terminating abnormally.

Using command:

RESTORE DATABASE YourDB FROM DISK = 'D:BackUpYourBaackUpFile.bak' WITH Recovery
