Hello,

How to application start before shutdown or shutdown click?

I want to run application automatically when we will be click on shut down or restart button using c# .net windows application.

Please help me.

How can we do this task?

I never worked on this type of project but i think you need to catch firstly system shutdown event and override in your application.i think you can find inside Using system.managment name space.

I am not very sure that whether it will work or not. You can try the steps
In your form closingevent, you can check whether your form has been closing via shutdown.
bool waitOnShutdown =true;
private void Form1_FormClosing(object sender, FormClosingEventArgs e)
{

    if (e.CloseReason.Equals(CloseReason.WindowsShutDown))
    {
       if (waitOnShutdown)
        {
        var process = new Process ("shutdown.exe", "/a"); // cancel the shutdown process
        process.Start ();

        e.Cancel = true;
        }
      // do your stuff here for backup
     // after backup done, shutdown the system
     waitOnShutdown =false;
     process.Argument = "/s /t 0";
     process.Start ();

}

Hello Amit,

Not bro, I want to show popup or run application when user click on shutdown, basically when user click on shutdown so it will be not shutdown until application run.

Once user clicked on the shutdown button, its not in you hand to stop this process unless it has been scheduled.

Instead, you can use formClosing event in your win forms and take your backup

It would be more helpful if you elaborate your requirement a bit more. Do you want your application that runs before shutdown?
