How create external table in database using SQL server?

How create external table in database using SQL server using SSMS. We need to relate two database and some quering on it. If any other way to relate two database in one instance please help us. I am using Azure SQL server.

Hi Atul,

I was not aware about sql azure ,so my query will not work in azure crosss database. Kindly check below link for creating external table and making cross database query.

For now you can't do this in Azure,
you will have to copy the data from one DB to another then do what you want (query it).

BUT yes you can do this in Azure you will have to .....

If there is some common column in 2 tables of different database then hope below query will help.

Select a.column1, b.column1 from database1.dbo.tablename1 a join database2.dbo.tablename2 on a.id=b.id

What you are relating between two databases schema or data.
What do you mean by external table.
