how can i link category and subcategory table?

I have a category page where in i have 3 columns

cname

cimage

I have a subcategory page where in i have 4 columns.

sname

simage

description

In my subcategory page , i have dropdown list in which i populate cname from the category page.

later i have binded dynamically the cname,sname,simage,desc into gridview in the same subcategory page.

I have a problem displaying selected cname field which i have selected from dropdown in subcategory page in the gridview.

How i should link category and subcategory table so that i can perform edit delete oerations in my gridview.

plz suggest me what to do..

yes if you do that its easy to retrive which catagory is related to which subcategory.

sir,u mean to say that i should store the categoryvalue of dropdownlist from subcategory page into an interger datatype categoryid and store in subcategory table...

yes, better to insert the catagoryid in subcategory table at the time of insertion of subcategory.

you have to change your table of structure of sub category for relate the category with subcategory. just add one column to subcategory as category id. then it is easy to relate both
